Important: If your calendar is for your work or school, your administrator decides if you can share it. If you can't share a calendar, learn how to contact your administrator.
In Google Calendar, you can share any calendar that you own or one that you have permission to share. When you share your calendar with someone:
- You can control what they can find and do on your calendar.
- They get an email. To find your calendar, they'll need to click the link in the email.
- You can stop sharing your calendar whenever you want.
Share your calendar with people or groups
Important: If you want to share a calendar that someone else owns, that person must give you the 'Make changes and manage sharing' permission.
Step 1: Find the calendar that you want to share
- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- On the left side of Calendar, click My calendars.
Step 2: Choose who to share your calendar with
- To the right of the calendar, click More
Settings and sharing.
- On the left, click Shared with.
- Under 'Shared with', click Add people and groups.
- Add the email address of the person or Google Group.
Step 3: Choose what people can do with your calendar
Decide how much access you want to give to other people:
| Permission | Definition |
| See only available/busy (hide details) | People can only find out when you're busy on your calendar. They can't find the names or details about events or tasks on your calendar. |
| See all event details | People can find all details, like event names, times, places and descriptions. |
| Make changes (see private events as available/busy) |
People can edit non-private events, but can't edit private events. If a private event is 'Busy', it shows up as a busy block on your calendar with no event details. If a private event is 'Available', it does not appear on your calendar. |
| Make changes and see all event details | People can edit events on your calendar and find who else it's been shared with. |
| Make changes and manage sharing | People have full control of events or tasks with start and end times in your calendar and can share your calendar with others. |

If they can't find the email:
- Make sure that you have the correct email address for them.
- Ask the person to check their spam or bin folders.
- Ask the person to search for your email.
- Take them off the sharing list, then add them again.
